Constance Tankerville-Chamberlayne and Arthur Oke first met in 2017 as two Londoners in Dubai. Constance worked as a writer for Harper's Bazaar Arabia, while Arthur was a consultant traveling frequently to the Middle Eastern city.

​

In the winter of 2021, Arthur proposed to Constance on top of the Crest'ota peak in Switzerland. As they sat on the precipice, he asked her if she could get up – and Constance, thinking she had accidentally sat on her scarf or jacket, obliged her. When she turned around, he was "beaming on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring I've ever seen".

Less than a year later, Connie and Arthur tied the knot in late September at the family home in Constance, in the French countryside near Toulouse. "This time of year in the area is so beautiful -

it's the end of summer...

 

The bride, who works as Director of Global Marketing at Stine Goya, used her extensive experience in event planning to orchestrate  her wedding...

 

On Sept. 23, Constance walked down the aisle while her childhood friend Florence Rawlings sang Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me." Arthur was waiting at the end in a custom beige suit from Saville Row. He began to cry as she reached the end. "I had never seen him so overwhelmed by such tears of joy," she recalls. "It will be in my mind forever." Another particularly poignant moment came when the guests stood up, midway through the ceremony, to sing "Moon River" together - something Arthur and Connie describe as "a transcendent moment none of us will ever forget. ".

After their vows, the couple left hand-in-hand as their favorite Neil Young song played....

Our flower arch was made by Poésie d'un jour. We chose flowers to match the rustic, earthy autumn landscape, including local wildflowers, lavender, olive branches...

The cocktail hour took place in the front garden...

All the while, white hydrangeas were floating in the pool...

Then the crowd of 120 headed out to dinner under a puffy white tent – which, Constance jokes, ended up being the best investment they ever made. In the midst of the speeches, the heavens opened. "It was the biggest rain at a wedding that our wedding coordination team had ever seen," she admits...

After the storm subsided, guests rushed down the hill to the dance tent – the floor of which, due to all the water, turned into a de facto slide and slide. Their first dance to Van Morrisson's "Into The Mystic" ended more like a first stumble :

"We just hugged each other and laughed all the way through," she says...

​

The festivities ended up lasting until three in the morning, and two days later the couple were still cleaning up. "The mark of a good party!" Constance concludes.
